Vintage 2008

«Bordeaux beyond the Grands Crus…».
Over 150 wines, both AOC Bordeaux and AOC Bordeaux Supérieur, from 2008 and 2009 were tasted. A real name to look out for, this wine has a rich deep cherry colour, with mid to full intensity. Very clear blackcurrant on the palate, with a spicy damson edge, coming from the blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet France, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec. A wine to make you smile. Consultant here is Stephane Derenoncourt.

Our ratings

Interview mit dem Önologen Stéphane Derenoncourt über den Bordeaux-Jahrgang 2008:

“In spite of another heterogeneous crop, Stéphane Derenoncourt insists that 2008 is a very good, in some cases a great, vintage. Tasters at the Primeurs are in for some positive surprises, he promises.”

Region and vineyards

Chateau le Pin Beausoleil is grown on the best plots of the estate, one of 5 hectares near the chateau, in Saint-Vincent de Pertignas, on a beautifully situated, well drained clay-limestone plateau and on a smaller plot of 2 hectares in Merignas, in the middle of a small forest, the soil here also has a wonderful clay-limestone structure.
