The Bordeaux winegrowing campaign in January and February 2025 was a testament to the resilience and expertise of the region’s winegrowers. During these months, the critical phase of pruning and thinning takes place, carefully shaping the dormant vines to ensure a productive growing season. This year, however, the task was made more difficult by sometimes difficult weather conditions.
Bordeaux experienced temperature fluctuations, occasional frost and heavy rainfall. These conditions required extra vigilance from vineyard workers as they had to maintain the delicate balance between protecting the vines and preparing them for the coming season. Despite the hurdles, we adapted our pruning plans and techniques to mitigate the effects of the bad weather. This allowed us to complete the pruning last week.
This early commitment underlines our desire to maintain the high standards for which the Château is renowned. As the vines awaken in the coming months, the groundwork done during this difficult winter will play a crucial role in shaping the quality of the 2025 vintage. We can only hope that 2025 will spare us from extreme weather conditions in the coming months. In any case, we are ready to take on any challenge that may come our way.
Antonio Galloni, the renowned wine critic, recently shared a photo of Château Le Pin Beausoleil, our jewel in Bordeaux, on Instagram(https://www.instagram.com/p/DFYQv1vyoLW/) when he announced this review of the 2022 vintage.
Galloni is known for his discerning palate and eloquent reviews and praises the 2022 vintage: “Le Pin Beausoleil 2022 is elegant, elevated and wonderfully graceful from start to finish. Crushed rose petals, mint, orange peel and spearmint lend an exotic flair to the bouquet. Silky and lively on the palate, with wonderful transparency, the 2022 is sublime. The finish is a little grippy, but this can be remedied with a little time in the bottle. Le Pin Beausoleil seems to be moving towards a style that is fresher and livelier than in the past.” (Antonio Galloni, January 2025. Rated 93).
Galloni’s Instagram post has not only drawn attention to our winery. For us, it also underlines the growing influence of social media in the world of wine. We hope that our activities on Instagram(https://www.instagram.com/chateaulepinbeausoleil/?next=%2F ) will encourage wine lovers to explore what Château Le Pin Beausoleil has to offer, which is a true testament to the art of winemaking in Bordeaux.
