The assemblage, i.e. the blending of our wines, is a moment that our team looks forward to with excitement every year. This year it took place in January. It is in these moments that the true character of our vintage is revealed, shaped by the careful blending of different lots and barrels, each with its own unique expression. The process requires precision, intuition and a deep respect for the individuality of each component, so that the final blend is a true testament to our winemaking philosophy. This is made possible by the invaluable advice and expertise of the oeno team and Thomas Duclos, whose insights and technical skills help us to realize the full potential of each batch. Equally, the dedication and craftsmanship of our in-house winemaking team, led by Igor Leclere, is central to creating a blend that truly expresses our vision.

On the way to something very special

This year’s cuvée is characterized by richness, elegance and a vibrant, fruit-driven profile that captures the best characteristics of our terroir. Upon tasting, we were immediately struck by a remarkable balance: layers of juicy red and black fruits are supported by refined tannins and a graceful, lingering finish. The wine is already showing an amazing harmony, even before it reaches its final maturity in the coming weeks. The cooperative spirit between the oeno team and our team at the chateau is a decisive factor in ensuring such a harmonious and expressive wine.

Craftsmanship and precision

The assemblage is always an exciting journey. The barrels differ in size, age, toasting, origin of the oak and were made by different coopers. In addition, each batch has its own history and complexity, resulting from the different grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet France and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the different microclimates and soils in which they were grown. During the blending process, we can observe how they come together to form a whole. This is both challenging and rewarding. The nuances of the 2024 vintage gradually reveal themselves, culminating in a wine that is more than the sum of its parts. With every sip, we are reminded that it is the artistry and precision of the blending process that transforms great potential into a truly exceptional wine.
