When the American Society of Hematology featured Michael Hallek in its journal ASH Clinical News under the title \u2018From Veins to Vines\u2019 featured, it captured the essence of Ch\u00e2teau Le Pin Beausoleil: the story of a world-renowned doctor and scientist, who in the vineyards of the M\u00e9doc found a second vocation .<\/p>\n

For more than two decades Michael Hallek has pursued an outstanding career in the fields of haematology and oncology at the University in Cologne combined with a passion for organic viticulture in Bordeaux . The path to winemaking was not a straightforward one. A serious illness \u2014 Guillain\u2013Barr\u00e9 syndrome \u2014 and the subsequent recovery made him to the transience of life in a profound way to reflect. Together with a favourable financial opportunity following his exit from a biotechnology company the decision was made: Le Pin Beausoleil was to become a reality . <\/p>\n

This personal turning point is woven into every vintage. The acquired winery in 2004 has since then produced twenty vintages under the management of Michael and Ingrid Hallek produced \u2014 each and every one shaped by the same patience, modesty and the respect for the nature, which have determined this path from the very beginning. <\/p>\n
